Neoen acknowledges the Anaiwan people, Traditional Owners of the land on which Eathorpe Battery will store energy. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

After several years of environmental and technical studies, we have made the difficult decision not to proceed with this project. This decision was based primarily on the project’s limited scale. The maximum capacity (80–100 megawatts) is constrained by the existing grid infrastructure, particularly the overhead transmission lines and the steep topography of the site.

Unfortunately, this scale would not allow the project to achieve the economies that larger battery projects can deliver.

We would like to sincerely thank the local community and stakeholders for their time, input, and support during our studies. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 1800 966 020 or

With a balanced portfolio of wind, solar and big battery projects, we are aiming to achieve 10 GW by 2030.

Our goal is to own and operate our projects and as long-term neighbours, we are committed to sharing the benefits with surrounding communities.

This dedication to community and environment has made us a renewable energy developer of choice. We have invested more than $4 billion in the Australian market and developed over 4 GW of renewable energy assets.
